Love is in the details and there are plenty of them in this secluded place where privacy and luxury go hand in hand.

This year started with a very special anniversary – mr. B. turned 65 – that called for a special celebration. His wish was a trip to Phuket instead of a big party. Who am I to say no to this? We found the perfect intimate place at Trisara Luxury Resort on Phuket in Thailand thanks to Talisman Travel. Love is in the details and there are plenty of them in this secluded place where privacy and luxury go hand in hand.

Trisara Location
Trisara located in a tropical forest and exotic gardens, in a private quiet bay on the north-western coastline op Phuket Island. All the rooms and villas have private pools ànd a stunning view of the Andaman sea. Our pool villa was on a higher level and we started the day with a walk through the jungle garden down to beach for a delicious breakfast (think besides everything you could wish for, a large selection of superfoods and organic green juices). Walking down was easy, going back up to the villa was a whole different ballgame. It ticks the daily exercise box.

On this lower level you’ll find reception, restaurants, bar, yoga room, large pool and … the white sandy beach. Although the beach is very small with rocks, swimming is easy once at the end of the jetty.

Pool villa
Breath taking, that was how it felt when we arrived at our private villa. We only needed a few minutes to call it ‘home’. The simple but elegant design is definitely an interior inspiration. From the outside teak deck with large teak loungers and a grey natural marble infinity pool – and a large vase filled daily with fresh lotus flowers – till the minimalistic, Asian interior made of the finest materials. All from Thailand, since the resort gives high priority to sustainability. No plastic bottles and whenever possible, local organic products.

Spa & Yoga & Thai Food
How convenient, our villa was quite close to the holistic spa. For me a spa menu tops a shoe sale, so I came prepared and nearly memorised the entire content beforehand. Each private spa treatment room (think villa) has an outside garden with an eucalyptus steam room and outside shower. Call it the perfect before-massage-routine. All spa products used are a 100% organic and free of chemicals and preservatives. Indulgence, yes.

At the lower level there is a yoga and meditation room facing the sea for daily classes. Tranquil and surrounded with coconut palms. Speaking of which, the (lunch) drink of the day was a fresh, young coconut. The breakfast as well as dinner is served on The Deck restaurant, also shaded by large coconut palms. This was our favorite restaurant (of 3) since they serve authentic Thai dishes. Mouth-watering indeed and there’s no need to leave the premises. Whatsoever.

No finer way to lose the hours than being in a hammock on the beach facing the Andaman sea. Trisara is the perfect luxurious place for getting away from it all and experience the warmth of the Thai people. I am also thinking back to nature’s daily theatre show: watching the sun set from the private pool at the end of a lovely day. Heaven on earth it is. I wonder if Phuket’s best kept secret will qualify for a 66th birthday celebration?
